Personal Bio
Claudia directs stone circles at The Stone House, the nonprofit organization she founded in 1995 to sustain activists and strengthen the work for justice through spiritual practice and principles. In 2007, the organization created The Stone House: a center for spiritual life and strategic action on 70 acres of land in Mebane, NC. Claudia’s previous work includes developing youth leadership, supporting struggles for economic justice, and strengthening nonprofit organizations. Her book “The Spiritual Activist: Practices to Transform Your Life, Your Work, and Your World” (Penguin Compass 2002) is a practical guide to individual and social transformation through spirit and faith. Claudia has a master’s degree in Public Policy from Duke University and is a Rockefeller Foundation Next Generation Leadership Fellow. She practices meditation and teaches Kripalu yoga.
