Transform India’s art classes into safe spaces for students to find their voice by implementing contextual programs integrated with the lens of climate action and gender.
organization overview
Slam Out Loud transforms how arts education and socio-emotional learning happen for underserved children in India. SOL uses poetry, storytelling, theater, and visual arts to build social-emotional learning (SEL) in children. Slam Out Loud trains teachers in public schools to build SEL through their weekly art classes. Children develop skills in imagination, analytical thinking, and curiosity. Most children show annual competency growth that leads them to achieve better life outcomes. Additionally, Slam Out Loud places performing artists and mental health professionals in select art classes through a fellowship designed to transform young professionals into world-class art-educators.
