Uru Uru’s goal is to restore the Uru Uru Lake, a source of life for Indigenous communities and unique flora and fauna. Uru Uru uses Indigenous knowledge and science to deploy sustainable and effective restoration and conservation initiatives. Indigenous, women-led, and nature-based solutions are the organization’s main strengths in combating climate change, wastewater, and mining discharges that endanger the precious lake. With a strong circular economy perspective, Uru Uru is strengthening short, medium, and long-term positive results.

Personal Bio

Tatiana is a community sister with a profound appreciation for Mother Earth and her wisdom. She spearheads initiatives aimed at the sustainable restoration of Uru Uru Lake, focusing on efficient, eco-friendly solutions. Her work centers on empowering women and youth from Indigenous communities through comprehensive education, enhancing their ability to access academic and professional opportunities both locally and internationally.

Tatiana collaborates with families to provide training and implement sustainable practices that promote environmental stewardship. She firmly believes that mutual care and respect can drive global positive change, enhancing the well-being of individuals and communities alike. Her philosophy is that caring for nature equates to caring for humanity and all beings.

Tatiana is passionate about walking, reading, swimming, and continuously learning, especially from nature. Her vision is a peaceful world where environmental and social harmony prevail.
