Increase access to renewable energy for low-income communities in Africa by delivering clean and affordable cooking gas through community kitchens.
organization overview
Mega Gas Alternative Energy envisions ending energy poverty in Africa. It provides clean, affordable cooking energy to low-income households through community kitchens powered by renewable energy. Mega Gas uses two distinct patented waste-to-clean cooking gas technologies. One technology converts plastic waste and the other converts food waste into reliable clean energy. Community kitchens enable families and micro-entrepreneurs to cook for just $0.20 per hour and eliminates reliance on harmful biomass fuels. Through partnerships with women-led groups and digital tools such as the Mega Gas Wallet and PAYGO system, it accelerates community adoption of these new technologies.
