bold idea
Increase the life expectancy of people with chronic illnesses in underserved markets by transforming pharmacies into their first line of reliable care.
organization overview
Famasi seeks to increase the life expectancy of people living with chronic illnesses. First launched in Nigeria, Famasi works to ensure that people managing chronic conditions never have to skip a medication dose because their pharmacy ran out of stock, couldn’t afford to keep it stocked, or did not anticipate demand. Famasi works with local pharmacies, equipping them with the tools to stock the right medications, serve patients consistently, and deliver care that doesn’t stop at the counter. Its long-term goal is to make every pharmacy a reliable primary care touchpoint, ensuring that where someone lives never determines their survival.
Personal Bio
Adeola Ayoola is the chief executive officer and co-founder of Famasi, a health-tech company using AI to widen medication access and give pharmacies the tools to run well. A licensed pharmacist with more than a decade of experience across retail, public hospital, and wholesale pharmacy and digital health settings, she founded Famasi to solve the everyday problem patients face getting essential medicines—and to make the pharmacy itself capable of caring for them, not just dispensing to them. Since its founding, Famasi—which has grown to support thousands of pharmacies—has been selected for the Google for Startups Accelerator: AI First, Builders of Africa’s Future 2023, and the Reckitt Catalyst programs. Adeola was named a global finalist for the 2026 Aurora Tech Award, and, in 2024, received the Social Impact Entrepreneur Award from the Impact Investors Foundation and the RenewHER Award for Health Tech Innovation.
