Empowr is a multi-year program for underrepresented high school students in the United States, teaching high-paying STEM skills through a community-oriented lens. Participating students learn multiple engineering disciplines, complete paid internships, and invent new technologies, such as automated gardens, to serve their community. To date, upon completion of the program, all participating students have gone to college; alumni have been awarded hundreds of thousands in scholarships and ultimately secured careers with high five-figure salaries.
Personal Bio
Adrian Devezin is the founder of Empowr, which he launched in 2019. Empowr operates a multi-year program that equips students with all the knowledge, work experience, and resources to become engineers directly out of high school. Adrian was inspired to create Empowr based on his own unsatisfactory experience with the education system, as he was labeled and denied opportunity. He decided to pursue a career in engineering, progressing from working a minimum wage job at McDonald’s to earning a six-figure salary as an engineer within a few years. He uses education to end the poverty cycle, equip people with resources, and raise future leaders.
