Personal Bio

Hussam Irsheid is a Palestinian product designer, engineer, and social entrepreneur focused on inclusive design and community-driven technology. He founded PalAID to expand access to affordable prosthetics and assistive tools through human-centered design and digital fabrication. Growing up in Hebron, Hussam developed a strong interest in technology, innovation, and social change. Through volunteering, community initiatives, and entrepreneurial experimentation, he became increasingly aware of the barriers faced by people with disabilities in his community. He has represented Palestine in international innovation and technology initiatives and has led collaborative projects developing assistive devices for people with disabilities across the West Bank. Through PalAID, Hussam works to build a locally driven model for designing and producing prosthetics that invites communities to participate in creating the tools they use and expands access to assistive technologies in humanitarian and crisis-affected settings.
