Create pathways to mental well-being in communities of color by developing tools and programs that promote self-care and social action.
Flourish Agenda creates pathways to healing, well-being, and social action so that urban youth can overcome racial trauma and the psycho-social harm they experience every day. Flourish Agenda builds social emotional well-being and leadership skills of both young people and the educators and service providers who support them. By equipping schools, teachers, and youth service providers with curricula, training, technology, and technical assistance, Flourish Agenda provides transformative learning experiences to youth. When youth, educators, and youth workers experience healing and social emotional learning, they create more peaceful, supportive climates in neighborhoods and schools. Through a process of healing, Flourish Agenda transforms apathy to agency.
Carvell Wallace is Flourish Agenda’s product lead. He creates culturally responsive technology tools designed to increase social emotional health and well-being for urban youth, including Vibosity, a first-of-its-kind app that assesses and collects data around social emotional health. Carvell has over fifteen years experience working with young people in foster care, employment programs, probation and detention, designing and running programs and curricula. Following that, he spent a year working on product and marketing at a startup. He has a unique and extensive background combining social, community, project design, and marketing disciplines. His passion is to work at the intersection of technology, nonprofit, and social innovation to create, test, and perfect clean, elegant, and effective solutions to large-scale social issues. He is a graduate of New York University, a published writer, and a father to two beautiful children. In all areas, his work centers on the very basic task of helping people understand, identify with, and connect to one-another. His writing can be found at carvellwallace.com.
