Farmerline builds mobile voice services that provide timely and improved agricultural information access and better communication channels for small-scale farmers and agricultural workers through their mobile phone in any local language. As a service specifically focused on smallholder farmers and organizations that need more access to these farmers, we are able to use our technology to connect farmers to markets, finance, weather forecast, new farming tips, inputs dealers and equipment services. This helps farmers to increase their yield and income. Our vision is to empower small-scale farmers across Africa to become financially prosperous and more entrepreneurial in their farming ventures.

Personal Bio

Emmanuel is the Co-founder/CTO Farmerline. He leads a team of dedicated web and mobile developers to build mobile voice solutions that provides timely and improved agricultural information access and better communication channels for small-scale farmers and agricultural workers in any local language. Prior to this position, he worked as a Geomatic Engineer in several surveying firms in Ghana, as well as the lead developer and partner in iCottage Networks, a leading web development firm in Kumasi, Ghana. Emmanuel has leveraged his experiences in building location-based/GIS and GPS applications, SMS and voice applications, and brings abstract algorithms to real life by building workable solutions for the agricultural ecosystem in Ghana and beyond. Since 2006, Emmanuel has had opportunities of teaching and mentoring students and young entrepreneurs like him on the impact of academic research on societal issues, programming, and volunteerism during his National Service and postgraduate studies at Department of Geomatic Engineering of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi-Ghana. Emmanuel received a BSc and MSc degrees in Geomatic Engineering from KNUST, Kumasi.
