It contains thousands of curated trans health resources and tailored care planning tools that both help patients find care and support clinics in delivering it. Trans Health HQ envisions a world where affirming care is routine, accessible, and integrated across health care systems so people of all genders can live healthy, self-determined lives.
Personal Bio
Ivan Hsiao is the founder of Trans Health HQ. Trans Health HQ builds digital infrastructure that helps transgender people navigate complex health care systems and connect with affirming providers while supporting clinics in delivering equitable care. Ivan’s path to this work began through personal experience navigating gender-affirming care. After thousands of hours spent searching for accurate information—and helping other transgender people do the same—Hsiao saw firsthand how fragmented systems and missing infrastructure force many in the community to navigate health care alone. The experience shaped Hsiao’s commitment to building tools that ensure transgender people can access safe, dignified care. Hsiao was previously a health care management consultant, focused on access related to rare diseases and oncology, and a venture capital-backed health tech entrepreneur. Hsiao holds an MPH from Harvard University, where he teaches a graduate seminar on transgender health. His research has appeared in journals including the International Journal of Transgender Health. Trans Health HQ was launched with support from the Harvard Innovation Labs and Blue Cross Blue Shields of Massachusetts.
