Personal Bio

Dr. Karen Levy is a Senior Director at Innovations for Poverty Action. Her current work focuses on the development and implementation of school-based health policies and programs. From 2006 through 2010, she served as Kenya Country Director for IPA, having established the country office in early 2006. She managed the growth of in-country operations to their current level, with approximately 200 full-time personnel working on more than a dozen projects funded by international foundations and multilaterals. Since January of 2009, Karen has also served as Regional Director for Africa of Deworm the World, an initiative of the World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leaders. In this role, she works with senior health and education officials in several governments, providing technical and logistical support for the design, implementation, and monitoring of national school-based deworming programs.
