8B is the first social impact fintech platform changing the face of the global labor market by tackling the gap in education financing facing African students going to study outside the continent. 8B facilitates loan financing by aligning incentives and integrating stakeholders such as lenders, impact capital, students, and colleges, democratizing access to world-class education and capital markets. 8B’s approach is building a superhighway to opportunity for the world’s fastest-growing university-age population.

Personal Bio
Dr. Lydiah Kemunto Bosire is the founder and chief executive officer of 8B. Prior to 8B, Lydiah worked in international politics, development, and human rights for nearly two decades, including at the UN Secretariat, the World Bank, the UN Population Fund, and the World Health Organization. She served on the board of directors of Keep a Child Alive, as a mentor of the Oxford Women in Business network, on the Global Citizen Impact Funds council, and in advisory roles at Schimdt Futures and at MacroAdvisory Partners.
She co-founded Oxford Transitional Justice Research and pioneered the YouthForce HIV/AIDS advocacy platform. She serves on the board of directors of WorldQuant University and is a 2024 Bloomberg Green Champion. Her work has been featured on CNN International, Bloomberg, and Forbes. She’s spoken on African development, innovative finance, higher education, the future of work, and how the African workforce can power innovation in climate and global health.
Lydiah holds a doctorate in politics from the University of Oxford. She holds additional degrees from Oxford University and Cornell University.
