Personal Bio
Dr. Maria Uloko is the founder and CEO of VULVAi. Driven by her experiences as a physician witnessing countless patients struggle with misdiagnosis and inadequate care, Maria founded VULVAi to break the cycle of neglect and provide people with the resources they need to advocate for their health. Before founding VULVAi, Maria created the first vulvar sexual health clinic run by a urologist that widely accepted insurance, where she treated over 2,000 patients. Her groundbreaking research defining the number of nerves in the human clitoris gained international recognition, including a feature on Late Night with Stephen Colbert. Maria is an award-winning researcher, former clinical professor, and the host of the Salvaging Sex podcast. Committed to improving health care equity, Maria’s work combines science, technology, and advocacy to build a future where individuals suffering from vulvovaginal conditions are heard, validated, and empowered to take control of their health.
