Anseye Pou Ayiti equips teachers in rural primary schools to transform classrooms and communities, building a Haitian-led movement of civic leaders to spread educational equity. Teachers, students, parents, and school leaders work within their communities to create a network of civic leaders and build an equitable education system based on shared history, values, and vision. Anseye Pou Ayiti seeks an education system that affords all citizens their human right to a high-quality education, equipping all Haitian children with the knowledge, skills, and mindsets to achieve their full potential, and serving as a new model for nations with similar socioeconomic challenges.
Personal Bio
Nedgine Paul Deroly is co-founder and CEO of Anseye Pou Ayiti, a network of Haitian civic leaders working with communities to build an equitable education system based on shared history, culture, and vision. Originally from Haiti, Nedgine has led community service and youth development programs within Haitian diaspora communities. She has also held previous roles with Achievement First, the Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut, WorldTeach, and Partners In Health. A lifelong educator, she has conducted teacher leadership seminars and extensive research about Haiti’s education system. Nedgine earned a BA in history from Yale University and an Ed.M. in international education policy from Harvard Graduate School of Education. She was named among the top global social innovators by Echoing Green, was selected for the Forbes Magazine 30 Under 30 Social Entrepreneurs, and is a member of the inaugural cohort of the Obama Foundation Fellowship. She is passionate about joining forces with others to continue pursuing her deep commitment to educational justice. Nedgine is a 2014 Echoing Green Fellow.
