SAMI+ is dedicated to expanding prenatal care in the Democratic Republic of Congo. It trains, equips, and deploys mobile community health technicians with AI-powered portable ultrasounds to deliver life-saving prenatal imaging in rural and underserved health facilities. By combining cutting-edge technology with local capacity building, SAMI+ enables early detection of pregnancy complications and drives healthier pregnancies, safer births, and stronger beginnings. SAMI+ envisions a future where every woman has access to quality prenatal care no matter where they live.

Personal Bio

Sabrina Ebengho is the founder and CEO of SAMI+. She brings extensive experience in public health emergency response, community-centered research, policy development, service delivery, and program evaluation. Her firsthand experience with the devastating consequences of an inadequate health system in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) fueled her passion for developing innovative solutions to transform how health care is financed, designed, delivered, and measured. Sabrina is deeply committed to improving population health outcomes through sustainable health systems strengthening. Before founding SAMI+, she contributed to leading a COVID-19 emergency response, vaccination efforts, and vaccine equity research in the U.S. In the DRC, Sabrina led initiatives to expand access to HIV prevention and treatment in alignment with national 95-95-95 targets across diverse populations and regions. She also evaluated the national free maternity, childbirth, and newborn care program, providing policy recommendations to enhance its implementation and effectiveness. Sabrina holds a master of public health from Harvard University.
