Personal Bio

Ashu Martha Agbornyenty is the founder and executive director of For Mom and Baby Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving birth outcomes for mothers and newborns. Through the foundation’s initiatives, Ashu bridges the gap in access to quality healthcare, particularly in underserved communities. Ashu’s journey began with a vision – a world where childbirth is a safe and empowering experience for every woman. Fueled by this vision, she embarked on a career as a midwife. The realities of the clinical setting — with its limitations and protocols — left her yearning for a more holistic approach. This experience ignited her desire to create a space to empower women beyond the sterile walls of the delivery room.

Ashu is a distinguished alumna of the International Confederation of Midwives’ Young Midwife Leader program. In 2023, she received the prestigious Global Goalkeeper Changemaker Award from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in recognition of her innovative work.
