bold idea

Increase access to quality sexual and reproductive health education for African women by creating animations in native languages and digitizing access to prescribed medication in semi rural areas.

organization overview

OSAAT Africa Health Foundation was founded in 2019 with the vision that all Africans, irrespective of socioeconomic status, can access quality sexual and reproductive health services. OSAAT Africa aims to reduce teen pregnancy and improve quality of life for women in rural and semi-rural areas. OSAAT Africa provides quality sexual and reproductive health education to women in their native languages, as well as hormone-free long-term contraceptives via copper intrauterine contraceptive device clinics. OSAAT Africa digitizes access to prescribed medication through a digital health innovation called MENGA. MENGA allows patients to communicate with their doctor via text message and access prescribed medication using biometrics, reducing both out-of-pocket costs from traveling to hospitals, as well as the burden on local hospitals.
