Personal Bio
Josephine Edward is a marine biologist and the founder of Lady Marine Consultancy. Her lived experience with the environmental challenges faced by marginalized women in Namibia fuels her commitment to climate justice and food security. She holds a master of science in biodiversity and conservation biology from the University of Western Cape. She was awarded Best Pitcher at the Blue Invest Forum in 2024 and recognized for her innovative, community-driven solutions. As a Mandela Washington Fellow in 2021, she deepened her leadership in sustainable development and equitable economies. Josephine has received media attention for her efforts to enhance ocean awareness and literacy among young girls and women, reinforcing her mission to inspire the next generation to engage with and protect our ocean resources.
