Parity Lab seeks to eliminate violence against women and girls from the bottom up. Parity Lab identifies, supports, and builds a community of historically underserved community-led organizations addressing gender-based violence. Parity Lab’s support includes organizational and individual capacity development, coaching, healing-centered community, and connection. Parity Lab trusts that local leaders and survivors understand what works in their communities by nurturing and supporting these changemakers to scale, deepen their impact, and apply their learnings to research and policy. Parity Lab believes that by strengthening local innovations, every family will have access to prevention and responsive services for long-term change.
Personal Bio
Mathangi Swaminathan is the Founder and CEO of Parity Lab, a global social enterprise that partners with nonprofits and governments to build trauma-informed, healing-centered leadership. Through its flagship model, Anchorâ„¢, Parity Lab equips corporates and nonprofits to prevent gender-based violence and build emotionally resilient teams. Its work has supported over 70,000 people across five countries and was featured as a case study at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Before founding Parity Lab, Mathangi worked across the gender, public health, and social innovation sectors, guided by a belief that healing is not just personal—it’s structural. Her commitment to this work is rooted in both lived experience and years of designing scalable programs that center emotional wellness and survivor leadership.
Mathangi is a Harvard-trained, award-winning researcher and writer. She has published in multiple peer-reviewed journals and authored Op-Eds in The Hindu, and The Hill among others. Her work bridges data and storytelling to shift narratives, policies, and systems.
